We traveled to Wisconsin Rapids late July. Here are photos from the area where where Paul's dad lived.
In late September, we drove through mid-Wisconsin into the UP of Michigan to Lansing. The autumn leaves are late this year, so even this far north we barely saw any leaf color. Sunset as we crossed from Wisconsin to Michigan, then sunrise in Escanaba. Mostly a rainy day to the Mighty Mackinac bridge.
Shout-out to Darrow's restaurant in Mackinaw City, where we had perfect fried whitefish sandwiches, onion rings, and a piece of cherry pie.
Last leg: Mackinaw City to Lansing. Again, not much leaf color.
On Thursday, September 28, we started the day by voting at the Clerk's office, then headed back up north to the Michigan UP, across Lake Michigan's north shore, and all the way back to Mossinee where the Central Wisconsin airport is located. We wrapped the day eating polish sausage at Gorski's. Readying to fly out in the morning, we bid Wisconsin and Michigan adieu. More leaf color this time, especially between Grayling, MI and the bridge (but no photos there because I was driving!)
